Catie’s Chocolatey Red Velvet Pancakes

Kodiak Cakes:

  • 1 c. Kodiak cake pancake mix
  • 1 c. water
  • 12 tbsp. red velvet flavoring
  • 1/2 c. white chocolate chip
  • 1 tsp. butter or cooking spray

Homemade:

  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 tbsp, cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 tbsp. white vinegar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. red velvet flavoring
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla
  • 1/3 c. butter, melted
  • 1/2 c. white chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp. butter or cooking spray

Instructions

Kodiak Cakes:

  1. Heat griddle or frying pan on stove on medium low heat.
  2. Mix together Kodiak cake pancake mix, water and red velvet flavoring.
  3. Grease the griddle or frying pan with butter or cooking spray.
  4. Pour the pancake batter into a heart shape.
  5. Sprinkle white chocolate chips on top.
  6. Wait until the pancakes start to form bubbles and then flip.
  7. Cook for 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Repeat process until all batter is used.
  9. Plate and serve with syrup or powdered sugar.

Homemade:

  1. Heat griddle or frying pan on stove on medium low heat.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together eggs, sugar, white vinegar, milk, red velvet flavoring and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
  4. In small amounts, pour the dry ingredients into the large bowl and mix together until all the dry ingredients have been combined.
  5. Grease the griddle or frying pan with butter or cooking spray.
  6. Pour the pancake batter into a heart shape.
  7. Sprinkle white chocolate chips on top.
  8. Wait until the pancakes start to form bubbles and then flip.
  9. Cook for 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Repeat process until all batter is used.
  11. Plate and serve with syrup or powdered sugar.
